Water Treatment Plant Mission Statement


The City of Lumberton Water Plant is dedicated to providing quality drinking water to the citizens of Lumberton.  The Water Plant staff is devoted to providing this service as cost effective as possible yet maintaining high quality water. It is our duty to protect the environment by conserving one of Earth’s vital resources.


Water Plant Facts

Construction: 1992 The water plant is classified as a pulsator and or up flow clarifier treatment plant. It is also state certified as an A-Surface facility, therefore it is manned by state certified operators.

Intake Source: Lumber River & 8 deep ground wells

Treatment Capabilities: 16 million gallons per day

Average Daily Flow: 4-6 million gallons

Population served; 20,000 – 30,000
