Performs skilled and semi-skilled work in the operation of motorized equipment to include front-end loader, heavy roller, trencher and related equipment in the maintenance and construction of roads, storm drainage and water and sewer lines. Successful applicant must have knowledge of principles and practices of operating and servicing trucks and related medium construction equipment; knowledge of traffic laws and regulations governing equipment operation and occupational hazards involved in safety precautions necessary to proper operation of varied construction and maintenance equipment; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; mechanical aptitude; ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment; ability to lift 75 - 100 pounds. Successful applicant may be required to pull call on a rotating basis. Graduation from high school and two years experience as Motor Equipment Operator I. Successful applicant must be able to operate small to medium weight equipment. Valid NC CDL. Salary range DOE. Excellent benefits.
